Welcome to Post #1 of "Just Like the Nut"!
I am a children's writer working on a mystery series. If (when!) a publishing house decides to buy my book(s), I am planning to publish under a pen name ... my maiden name, to be specific.
Linda Acorn.
Until I married seven years ago, whenever I told someone my last name, they'd give me a quizzical look.
"Acorn?" they'd ask.
"Yes," I'd reply. "Just like the nut."

Oh, my, what have I unleashed? Just keep it clean, OK, Lis?
:D
Just blogged over from Childrens Writers and Illustrators forum. Just love the name, very catchy and welcome to the wide world of blogging.
Writing for the King,
Paul
Hi, Paul! Thanks for the encouraging words! Just checked out "Hill Country Thoughts" ... nice!
Wish we had a Serene Bean here in Northern VA!
Hi Linda,
I sometimes comment on Joe's site and thought I'd pop over and say "Hi".
I love the name. Hey, I'm descended from Nutts AND Rattaballs!
All the best on your new endeavour,
Robin
Hi, Robin! Thanks for popping in. My dad (Mr. Acorn) once shared an office with a guy named Pat Nutt and another guy whose last name was Lily (I forget his first name) ... and they worked at a botanical gardens!
Linda:
And I thought it was the answer to the question, "Why did you marry Joe?"
LOL! That answer to THAT question will have to remain a mystery.
So you still haven't figured it out?
Oh, I know why. But I imagine there's not enough space in the blogosphere to try to explain it to anyone else.
