Kimberly Lynn has tagged me to reveal five random things about myself.
Earlier this year, I was tagged by Jay Asher of the Disco Mermaids for something similar (which you can find here), but I figure those of you visiting this blog are probably dying to know more about the person behind these deep thoughts and witty observations, not to mention the engaging prose, so here goes:
1. I am modest to a fault.
2. Little about me is truly random. I am, after all, a quintessential Virgo, i.e., a control freak.
3. I once rubbed shoulders (literally) with Mark Victor Hansen, one of the “Chicken Soup” authors. It was ... weird.
4. I write just about every blog post, including this one, with a 4-pound chihuahua on my lap.
5. I love the Philadelphia Eagles, even this season.
Bonus (since #1 was probably self-evident): I use ketchup when I eat rice. In fact, the entire Acorn clan does ... I thought it was as natural as ketchup on fries until I was about 11 years old and totally grossed some friends out with it.
Feeling confessorial today? Then you, my friend, can consider yourself tagged!

Ketchup on rice?! That’s about as bad as me eating fried bologna. I won’t tease, if you won’t.
Congrats on the new baby nephew. I was the last hope for my dad’s family in carrying on our name. Seems old fashioned, but I think it is very important.
Thanks for being such a good sport.

Deal, no teasing (though IMO you are getting the better end of the deal here, since fried bologna really is much more disgusting than ketchup on rice).
Oh my, ketchup on rice. I'm not a big fan of ketchup - don't even eat it on fries. At least that doesn't gross me out though.
Here are the following common things that gross me out when ketchup is applied:
Eggs
Macaroni and Cheese
Meatloaf
and now... rice! ;o)
OMG, you have to have ketchup on your meatloaf! Eggs, it's optional. Mac & cheese? Hmm, I'll have to try that one.
Ketchup and rice. Not bad.
Here's a quote my mom loves repeating --
I eat my peas with honey,
I've done it all my life,
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on my knife.
Just in a sharing mood right now ;) Love the chihuaha. A lot of the time I'm at my desk, one or other of my cats is sitting in the hutch. Either his tail swishes random pens and papers out of its way or there's a clawed paw dribbling a paper clip. Gotta love 'em furry inspirations.
Hope you had a great Halloween and a wonderful Thanksgiving... urghh, I've been away forever!
rilla, welcome back!! And, thanks for sharing!
Linda, hello ! Catching up, too. Like Rilla, I feel like I've been away for ever. I'm glad you're in full writing mode, these days ! Keep going, and thanks to the Monkey sock, or Sock Monkey - I'm always confused. And I have no problem at all with Ketchup on rice, with Ketchup on eggs - love it when eggs are runny, actually, and I get to dip my bread in the lovely colorful mixture, what, what's wrong ? - with ketchup on macaroni and cheese, or on meatloaf. What I don't like, and I'm told it's done in France, although I've never seen anyone do it, is mayonnaise on French fries ! The colors don't match, you see :)
Welcome back, Katia! I had a friend in college who liked mayo on her fries. Ick.
